Weekly / Vacation Rentals in Silverton

This page contains information for an individual considering weekly/vacation rental of his/her residential property in Silverton.  Leasing residential property on a long-term basis is not subject to town regulations.

A property must hold a weekly rental permit to be rented on a short term or vacation basis.  Permits are handled through the planning department and are reviewed and approved by the Town Board.

The fee to apply for a weekly rental permit is $500.

General information:
  1. Each residential property is considered one rental unit (e.g. rooms cannot be rented out separately)
  2. Silverton allows approved residential property to be rented once per calendar week
  3. A site plan including parking areas, trash containers, etc. must be posted inside the unit.
  4. Complaints regarding excessive noise or loud parties after 10pm may result in the revocation of a weekly rental permit
  5. Each weekly rental unit must provide two designated, off-street parking locations.
  6. A business license, state sales tax license, and payment of lodging fees is required for permit-holders
  7. Each property may only have one affixed sign of two or fewer square feet.
  8. Each property must have a local responsible party available 24 hours/day while property is being rented.
